Level 1 = low risk of repeat offense
Level 2 = moderate risk of repeat offense
Level 3 = high risk of repeat offense
Level P = offender is registered but risk of repeat offense has not yet been determined
Please note that this document lists offenders by the risk level reported to the Division of Criminal Justice Services. Certain offenders were assigned a risk level in a manner found to be unconstitutional by a federal court (see the additional information about Doe v. Pataki located in Legal Information.) Therefore, it is possible that the number of level 2 or level 3 sex offenders listed in a county may include certain offenders who have not yet been afforded a constitutionally sufficient hearing to determine the risk level and are not listed in the Subdirectory.
